Globalization: How Has Your Business Fared?

The Guelph Chamber of Commerce and KPMG Enterprise have joined forces to conduct a survey to examine how private Canadian companies are responding to the challenges and the opportunities posed by globalization.

Results of the 2009 Taking on the World national survey will be published in the Fall. Guelph results will be available separately. The Guelph Chamber of Commerce is planning an event this fall to follow up on the results of this survey.

The 2008 report, available here, documents the extent of private companies' foreign operations and sheds light on the benefits of global expansion for private companies. It examines the key challenges and risks of doing so, and provides information about local employee and supply resources in foreign markets.

Minto Summer Shopping Spree Launches in June!

The Elf is back! This time he is in Minto for a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of toy making at the North Pole.

We are sure the elf will enjoy all of the great summer stops in Minto and maybe even take in some of the great family activities happening in Minto throughout June, July and early August.

This year he brings with him a shopping spree with over $1,500 in prizes! WOW. Grand Prize is a $500 shopping spree at Minto Chamber businesses and a one night stay at the Meiklejohn House Bed & Breakfast.   Along with that great grand prize will be over $1,000 in gift certificates from local businesses.

Right now the Chamber of Commerce is working with the Elf to recruit members into the shopping spree and our participating members will be showing up here soon.    Check back for locations of where you can enter the shopping spree and Elf activities soon.
